Digital Embroidery Introduction

Welcome to the digital embroidery introduction. This course will take you through how to format a vector file for embroidering, set up your file in PE design 10 (the software that goes with our embroidery machines), and then take you through the health and safety for the embroidery machines.

Once finished, you will need to complete a short health and safety quiz. You will need to score 100% to move on to the machine inductions, and you may retake the quiz as many times as you need.

The course should take a maximum of 1 hour to complete, please get in touch if you need any support.

Overview

Digital embroidery (sometimes called machine embroidery) is a process of producing a stitched pattern or image onto a fabric of your choice from a computerised design file, using a digital sewing machine or specialist embroidery machine.

The process is often used commercially for product branding, corporate advertising, and uniform adornment. It is also used in the fashion industry to decorate garments and apparel.

Digital embroidery is used by hobbyists and crafters to decorate gifts, clothing, and home decor including quilts, pillows, and wall hangings.
