Operating the Clarke Vacuum Former

Pull the heater hood over the material  

Push back the heater hood periodically to watch the material for floppiness as it heats and bows 

The sheet is ready to use when can see it drooping at this point 

Push the heater hood back 

Raise the base with the mould on, using the black lever, until it locks into position  

Turn the on vacuum system by flicking the switch up  

Note: You may want to use the vacuum blower knob to aid in the release the mould from the formed plastic sheet. To do this – pull the knob.  

Turn off the extraction  

Allow the formed material sheet to cool for 10 seconds 

Lower the base, using the black lever 

Lift open the toggle clamps to unload your formed material sheet (taking care not to touch the black frame as this can stay hot for a short time) 

Remove the formed sheet to a heat proof mat  

Remove the template mould from the formed sheet 

Clean up or trim the sheet as needed 

Once finished, switch off and leave the machine for 25 mins to cool down fully, turning the heater dial to off, switching off the machine power switch and turning off at the main socket
