Threading the top:
Grab some thread from the top of the machine

Draw some thread and pull it to the thread guide hook

While holding the thread near the spool, draw thread down the tension area and then around the check spring holder

Firmly draw the thread up and through the take–up lever from right to left
<Pic>
Then draw the thread down and slip it into the lower thread guide
<Pic>
Draw the thread down and slip it into needle bar thread guide on the left

Thread the needle eye from front to back.

You may want to cut the end of thread with sharp scissors for easier needle threading.

Needle threading:
Raise the needle to its highest position using the handwheel on the right of the machine

Pull down the needle threader knob as far as it will go.

Turn the knob in the direction of the arrow in the illustration, then insert the Hook into the needle eye

Lead the thread around the Guide and under the Hook

Turn the knob in the direction of the arrow in the illustration, drawing the thread loop through the needle

Pull the thread through the needle eye
<Pic>
The needle threader can be used with a #11 to #16 needle or a Janome Blue tipped needle. Thread size 50 to 90 should also work well.
